Missional Communities are exactly what they sound like.  Communities of people on mission together.  They are like small groups, but not.  They are like prayer meetings, but not quite.  They are like little churches gathered and sent together to accomplish the mission that Jesus has given us to reach the city of Duluth.  They have 3 components:

First, they foster Biblical community but their ultimate goal is not simply community.

Second, they are missionally engaged in some part of the city.

Third, they are active in serving the community in some form or another.

Beyond that, each missional community will be a little different.  We have 4 missional communities right now.  Three of them meet on Monday evenings twice a month, the other meets every week on Friday night in Canal Park to pray.  The groups that meet twice a month have a plan like this:

The first meeting of the month is a Kingdom-centered prayer meeting where we gather to lift up the needs of our city and pray that those in our city would meet Jesus.

The second meeting is either an outreach event planned and carried out by the missional community or a service project that the missional community plans and carries out.

This way we actually go together as a community into our city to share the love and message of Jesus Christ.  Often churches only gather as a community and then send everyone off on their own to do the best they can.  We believe that there is power in going together and serving together.

The three groups that meet on Monday nights are:
