City Group Leader Resources

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

Colossians 3:12–14

The Mission of City Groups

Our goal is to lead City Groups as small communities that live out our core identities together in rhythms of family gatherings, neighborhood mission, and intentional growth.

Sermon Discussion Questions

If your group is following the sermon series, I've written some discussion questions to get you started. You're welcome to use them, adapt them, or come up with your own!

Care & Mission Resources

We want to help cover some of the costs of leading a City Group, be it childcare, snacks, or anything else. We offer a stipend at the start of the year, but if you’d like to request additional financial assistance, download the Stipend Request Form and send it to Pastor Mike.

We’ve trained a handful of marriage coaches to provide lay counseling to couples in our church who are struggling with marriage issues by walking couples through the Prepare-Enrich relationship assessment and helping them work on some common issues.

If you or someone in your City Group is interested in marriage coaching, contact Pastor Mike.

Benevolence funds are to be used to assist Rock Hill members and regular attenders during a period of unexpected hardship (i.e. loss of job, medical emergency) resulting in a short-term, specific need. Our goal is to be both wise stewards and generous, cheerful givers.

To see details of our policies in regards to who can receive financial assistance from Rock Hill, download the Benevolence Request Categories form.

To apply for financial assistance for you or someone else, download the Benevolence Request Form & Policy and send it to Pastor Mike.

We believe community is the best apologetic to the world, so City Groups create space where we can go with other believers on mission. If you are looking for a way for your City Group to serve on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis, consider these Local Mission Opportunities.

Many City Groups have put together homeless care packages as a practical way to minister to the most needy in our city. This Homeless Care Package Worksheet can give your group some ideas about which items to include and their average cost.

Office Hours

Every Tuesday from 8:30-11:30am, I'll be working at 190 Coffee and Tea with an open table if you want to have a conversation. I'd love to buy you a cup of coffee and chat!
